Idaho health officials are investigating how nearly 60 people got sick after drinking raw milk in the past two weeks. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says they didn't name two dairies potentially linked to the outbreak “because this is a potential risk for any raw milk producer.”

The scope of this is not quite clear. Are we talking massive culls? BSE (Mad Cow) / foot-in-mouth level? How bad has the USDA fucked us, precisely?

This was preventable. Mexico shut down one of the two facilities that spread sterile screwflies in 2013, and the USDA, slashed under DOGE, decided the flights run from the Panamanian facility might be smuggling drugs, aka weren't White enough. Direct expenses prioritized over indirect costs.

Tons of furious responses to this, but many things that are objectively worse than AI or data centers, with as many or more visible harms, are not especially unpopular. The rapid backlash to this particular thing is a bit mysterious even if you agree the backlash is well-deserved.

Grades are in: A for the semester, and I get my associate this summer. Fall I start Machine Learning and Cybersecurity, so on track for my bachelor in two years. Also, professor said very nice things on my final exam, so I am pleased.

Anyone have any recommendations for Thunderbolt 5 computer docks? This is way too many choices after this semester and I need guidance. And some brain cells returned; Huffman and writing a python program to calculate derivatives with delta in an hour reduced the population I have available.

Exam 4 (and final assignment) in Computational Thinking complete. Five questions with one to four sub questions, four with three to four essay questions, and one problem to be solved by writing a python program followed by three questions about the results. Turning in a 29 page Word doc + py file
