hatoyama is very, very good at combining the beautiful with the cruel and strange in a way that sticks in your head. there's a strong focus on metal objects/machinery and how they interact with the world, transforming the people who interact with it. very much worth a look.

I get that not everyone understands that baking is a precise science but surely, surely there is no way you genuinely thought you could replace the sugar in your cake with "calorie free cofee sweetener tablets" and blame it on the recipe being bad

r/BakingNoobs u/burnt_bread_54 • 23h • reddit Tried making a cake... I tried making a Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, and this was supposed to be the base for it. It was even supposed to be a bit on the healthier side, so I substituted the sugar for a 1200 pill pack of those calorie free cofee sweetener tablets. It was in the oven for maybe 7 minutes at the reccomended temperature and turned out like this. Did this happen because 1 misread 2 tea spoons of baking soda for 2 table spoons or was I just unlucky and used a bad recepie?
