Welcome to bluer skies @digitalscholar.bsky.social! Digital Scholar was our generous platinum sponsor. We couldn't have made #DH2024 happen without them. Give them a follow!
Back to the real world after spending a week at #DH2024 Still feeling grateful and inspired by the amazing people I got to see. So many Zoom friends and colleagues irl!
This was a key theme of my #DH2024 keynote (imperfect + overstuffed though it was!): to reject the inevitability of AI + the scripts of extractivist enterprise software, + to build other technical ecologies Video (1hr 9min): www.youtube.com/live/fqRYSg7... Slides: wordsinspace.net/2024/08/09/s...

I was running around (literally) and didn't get to see much of #DH2024 but I'm looking forward to watching and editing all the recorded videos. It's like a post-conference conference :D
Leaving #DH2024 with a full brain and warm heart. Grateful to see friends and colleagues again in person, and inspired by sustained intellectual exchanges throughout the week. Thank you to everyone who made this conference happen!
I had a great time at #DH2024 presenting on r/AskHistorians and learning from other panels. Please feel free reach out to learn more about AH! I have a ton more AskHistorians resources too! Like this article by a fellow mod that I used in my intro digital history course- slate.com/technology/2...

They aren’t arguing an actual side. They’re not “just asking questions” out of curiosity or ignorance. Don’t give them the chance.

The conference was wonderful (even in post covid virtual attendance!) thank you, all!
What a fantastic week! While I’m still bummed I couldn’t make it in person, I deeply appreciate the thought & labor the @dh2024.bsky.social team put into making #DH2024 hybrid. Despite tech glitches, I’m grateful for the virtual option. I wish all conference organizers were as caring as these folks
Thanks to everyone for joining us at #DH2024! It has been an honor to be your local organizers! Signed: Bridget, Jessica, Amanda, Kristin, and Luz 🪶
Thanks to everyone for joining us online and in person for #DH2024!! We’ll see you all in Lisbon for #DH2025!

Thank you, #DH2024 -- taking gratitude into my weekend for the wealth of community, brilliance, and event coordination magic this past week. @dh2024.bsky.social 🙌
@shannonmattern.bsky.social talking now abt how peak hypocrisy = institutions (universities, companies, more) condemning plagiarism while championing adoption of "plagiarism machines" #DH2024 This keynote lecture is so good that I can't really post, I can just be inspired & let the lessons soak in.
Congratulations to the team who will be hosting #DH2026 in Daejeon, Korea!
Thank you #dh2024 for a wonderful few days reconnecting. Hitting the road now to avoid traffic. Enjoy the closing ceremony, and see you in Portugal.
I can't remember the last time I learned as much and had as much fun at a conference as #DH2024 -- awesome community, great scholarship, so thankful to have been able to take part (and sad I have to depart a little early -- will try to catch some afternoon sessions remotely)

Yes! This is a functionality we are particularly proud of. There is also a chat function if you want to ask the poster authors a question about their work!
#DH2024 folks, learned from the organizers all posters were uploaded, so we can view posters now & for 6 months. If like me, you missed a poster session. (Whova>Agenda>Posters)
Tuning in to "Humanities Infrastructures for Teaching, Researching, Publishing, and Building Community" and the chatter in the room before things kick off is so delightful to be able to hear over Zoom. (also, the title makes me think of Dad and his work on CNIDR back in the day) #DH2024
This panel on podcasting, digital storytelling, and the community and care that @plach.bsky.social creates in this profession for others was amazing. Truly a lesson in how creating (and supporting) community activates a form of creativity that can transform scholarship, careers, and more. #DH2024
We had a blast reflecting about our work with podcasting and digital storytelling, and listening to really wonderful clips. Check out our slides and sounds at tinyurl.com/podcasting-t... #DH2024
