When the towers were hit, I was in math class. Our teacher got pulled into the hall, and soon we could see all the teachers huddled together, some crying, some angry. My teacher was usually unflappable, but the look of tearful horror on her face when she returned is burned in my memory.
Yesterday was not my day, but maybe today will be. I have nothing to base this optimism on except better sleep and caffeine, but sometimes that's all you need.
