Not the point of the post, but I feel so much pride in the place where I live when I think about the fact that not only did we do so much to protect our immediate neighbors, but northeasters were also all over Columbia Heights & Fridley everyday too because they needed help.

For me, a non-sports-fan, there is something greatly beautiful and pure about the way sports-fan acquaintances love sports. I read posts like this ⬇️ and I have no idea what’s going on, but I delight in the knowledge that my beloved internet comrades are happy! Witnessing joy is a blessing always

Let’s use our brains here. Does it make sense for *Minneapolis* to partner with the federal government when their stated purpose of funding is to do immigration enforcement of “illegal aliens”. Obviously not. It’s uncomfortable to accept that we have a fascist regime but time to act accordingly.

It is a tough reality to accept, but operating business as usual is no longer an option with this federal government. It requires the City to step up and support neighbors more than ever before, and sometimes requires us to step back from past partnerships because we can’t trust federal agencies.
You guys, I love the Twin Cities so much. All day people I admire & respect negotiated a morally complex local scandal with great thoughtfulness and honesty. I ended the night drinking cider with (clockwise) an intensely kind white enby, a dazzling Black trans woman, & a cishet latino Marine vet
Speaking as someone a little jaded from growing up in NY politics: I think there’s a very real anger and need for catharsis that boils up when an elected shows contempt for their community and its most vulnerable. And they deserve mockery. Our mockery can’t come at the expense of survivors though.
When I go to the cigarette store, I always ask my husband if he wants anything from there, like for example - fanny pack with a skull on it - glow-in-the-dark ashtray - meth accessories - elaborate hookah - fine cigars (He does not but he appreciates my asking)
