Shan’t 🖤

Does anyone else remember their parent lecturing them about proper phone etiquette when calling them at their workplace like “If no one is bleeding and nothing is burning I don’t want to hear from you also when the receptionist picks up ask for Joanna Lanshire not Mom please don’t embarrass me”

I'm in the West Bank this week as part of the “Protect the Harvest” coalition along with Israelis for Peace, Unarmed Civilian Protection in Palestine & Protect the Harvest.

When every empty threat, every insult, every martyred “it’s fine” gets taken at face value, they are faced w the reality that if their words don’t match their intentions they lose all credibility. They are unreliable, so they are not relied on, so they become smaller and more disposable to others 🤷‍♀️

The hardest part of long runs (for me personally) is forcing myself to eat afterward. I am not. hungry. even though I just burned 1000 calories. I know a prompt meal will make recovery easier but I want a shower and a nap I do not want lentil soup and sprouted bread

Everyone makes mistakes but your clothing is one of the most important pieces of technical equipment you take with you when you're hiking, don't take something that will get you killed

This skeet brought to you by the person in REI asking a salesperson about “winter weight cotton base layers” shoutout to that sales person for gently but firmly pushing them toward Smartwool

blows my mind how many ppl are willing to risk hypothermia bc they can’t stand poly fleece: natural fibers are great, but most are bad at insulation. Wool is an exception BUT can be $$. Synthetic fibers can bridge the gap between affordability and performance. Don’t hike in cotton after Halloween.
