🩷💜💙 And I heard they were naked when they got busted And I heard things ain't been the same since

I throw something together over a 2 day period which frankly tastes borderline gourmet because I am heavily drawing from this one meal I had in New Orleans in 2016, and then I eat it on my bed out of a cracked bowl while watching YouTube at 8pm after a 45 minute minute workout

The Trump regime admitted in court filings that the cancellation of clean energy grants for Hawaiʻi was because the state voted for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, rather than the previously stated reasons of advancing energy needs or economic viability.

Trump Administration Lawyers Admit Hawaiʻi Funding Cuts Were Partisan

The admission about terminated clean energy grants emerged in recent court filings, confirming what many already suspected.

Many chronic autoimmune conditions that had no treatment 40 years ago now have disease-modifying therapies that can delay, by a significant extent, disability and other effects of the illnesses. Treatments for certain metastatic cancers allow some people to live for 10 to 20 years now.

In 1986, contracting HIV meant you were going to die, usually slowly, painfully, and alone. Now it's a chronic illness like hypertension. In 1986, gay and lesbian couples couldn't have their relationships legally recognized and had to adopt elaborate legal workarounds.

A trans couple has been brutalized by a mob, and then the trans woman ended up being arrested afterwards, at a public bathroom in Louisiana. EITM writer S Baum investigates this horrible act of violence in our latest piece. www.erininthemorning.com/p/trans-coup...

Trans Couple Brutalized At Louisiana Park Bathroom, Then Charged By Police

An angry mob allegedly beat them. The police charged them. The municipality voted for one of the most severe anti-trans bathroom ordinances in the country.

I think Democratic Socialists are winning primaries for the same reason Trump won in 2024. Namely, neither party has dealt with the massive problem of runaway wealth inequality. And the DS's are running on it. With Trump, I think fed-up voters just said, "Fuck it, let's burn this house down."

Why did Trump really win? It's simple, actually.

When the economy thrives while half of America struggles, something has got to give.

If you are a man with a profession that puts you anywhere in the public eye or in a position of authority over anyone, and you have a baby, i firmly believe it is your duty to take paternity leave. Be a good example.

I went to a thing about a week ago and there was someone there I ended up asking a lot of questions about the thing to and that person ended up being our current director, so that's probably good for me

There’s another important story getting buried in the brouhaha over a “national ban.” On the call, Blanche said the DOJ is putting policies in place so “prosecutors will no longer be able to use the FACE Act” to go after clinic attackers—even after Trump leaves the White House

Jessica Valenti@jessicavalenti.bsky.social · 10h ago

I was so pissed last night, watching viral videos claim that Blanche promised to pass a national abortion ban. That's not true, and it's not helpful. Because what he actually said is super dangerous, but getting buried

Being from Pittsburgh and reading this is extremely funny because every year our mayor comes to thank the rich hobbyists who pay for downtown hotel rooms and 12 dollar slushies called Wolf Piss because they are literally vital to the economy

Bluesky was built for you, but now it’s realising that letting you run riot means they’ll never move into profit Commies and furries do not a business model make

This is worth amplifying (also this podcast is rad), that Roman slavery was, y'know, slavery. In fact, all slavery is horrifying, but the broader 'Mediterranean' slavery tradition (which is also, by the by, the ancestor of Atlantic slavery) is one of the *more extreme* such traditions.

Next time someone tries to tell you that Roman slavery was different or better than other forms of slavery, tell them to listen to last week’s episode of @thisguysucked.com and/or buy Emma’s book.

My impression as a non-Michigander is that this primary was a lot uglier online than it was in-person, similar to Texas, and no matter who won there would be very few bitter primary voters sitting out the general. Nevertheless some people should consider why this is a big channel for their rage.

Very cute that leftists actually think "Withholding an endorsement when I lose because I'm just so mad and also afraid my supporters will stop giving me money if I'm seen as selling out" is a universal problem

The core insight of our prior work is that highways affect welfare through two margins: improving regional accessibility but reducing local quality of life through noise, pollution, barrier effects. The net effect on neighborhoods and cities is the combination of access benefits and amenity costs.

One of the great joys of my adult life has been realizing that I can just pick up a new skill every so often, take a fun little class in it weekly for a year or two, and simply enjoy meeting people and getting medium proficient and not attempting to become professional in it at all!

The nice thing about having access to hiking in 4 different states and 4 mountain ranges is if the weather isn't good in one of them I can simply drive to one where the weather is nice
