We built Typographer because finding the right font shouldn’t mean hunting down trials across dozens of foundry sites. A year after launch, we’re making it even more accessible: 38+ independent foundries in one place, now free to join.

This was such a fun project to work on! So excited to lower the barrier of entry to broaden everyone’s font horizons 🙌 If you give it a whirl and find a cool typeface that’s new to you, please share! I’ve been here since July but I’m constantly “discovering” gems in the catalog.

The original parts of HTML, CSS and JS from the 90s still all work, even though we probably could benefit from undoing some of the bad parts. WebGL too (based on a 2007 standard). The only notable broken part is Flash. Never officially part of the platform, but it was load-bearing regardless.

Hearing Apple devs complain about migrating to new APIs and gamedevs complain about engine upgrades makes me really glad the web platform has had almost no breaking changes… ever.

Crazy to be living in a timeline where people think copyright infringement and art theft is suddenly okay simply because it’s faster and easier to do it now. We are going through the largest scale theft of IP in all of human history. Enforcement of basic IP principles would destroy the AI economy.

One thing that keeps me productive is that I really like the people I work with. Even when some C-suite level nonsense goes on, we still do good work together and try to deliver the best quality possible. There are many good people working on technology that aren’t in your newsfeeds.
