@garthnix.bsky.social has always been one of my favorite authors, and his new book "Massif" was fantastic. Speculative sci-fi at its best with a compelling central mystery and great characters. Humanity travels the stars, but only by hitching a ride with unknowable aliens with inscrutable motives.

this is absolutely the biggest triumph of the game I mean, it's really fun to play, but mostly I just like these characters and I want to hang out with them! hawks particularly is a triumph, he's charming and self-deprecating and you can see why this band of misfits will follow him into anything

I can't keep dealing with AI, I really can't. AI everyone, friends using it as no big deal, making excuses, saying "no for x but yes for y"... I really can't deal with this anymore
