Trying to recreate the "Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion" as described in the Sandia Report, of the "This place is not a place of honor" fame) #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
Implemented a lo-fi way to "hear" enemy chatter during alert phases in my Metal Gear like game. This sliding text box was actually inspired by Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere on the OG PlayStation! #screenshotsaturday #indiegame #gamedev #metalgearsolid
My retrowave Metal Gear Solid like has enemy tagging like in MGSV. #screenshotsaturday
Has anyone made a game with a New Game-? Like you get less game than in your first play through?
a deep voice saying the title when you press play
???
just spotted that cyberpunk does doom-style sprites for distant cars and characters... amazing
Learned that I am being laid off from Heart Machine, and will be leaving the studio later this month. Do you need a contractor? I've got a track record of leading scope-friendly script revisions late in dev. I have also done a lot of consulting on new IPs and pitches/demos. Feel free to DM me!
One of the smartest games I've played in years. Sharp, funny writing and a brilliant realtime meets sokoban meets Metal Gear Solid setup that's like nothing else you've ever played. Time Bandit: it's a good video game for your personal computer.
if you missed it in the @queergamesbundle.bsky.social, my game Time Bandit is back on sale for 50% off on Steam! you have not missed your chance to be gay & do crimes, such as stealing from your boss and bringing down capitalism. in fact it’s never too late store.steampowered.com/app/1481910/...
I'm just going to say it. It's pretty well established that the fall launch window is really rough for game sales, and indie games in particular. Team Cherry surprise announcing the Silksong release at the last possible moment before then is thoughtless and actually harmful.
geez sorry to hear you're laying everyone off. it wouldn't have made a difference if you had like 20% more income every year though right. oh it would
if successful small and medium sized businesses are going broke and having to shut down and you've been taking 30% of their money for decades, at some point it's your fault
epic store's not great, the launcher sucks, etc etc whatever. but they did the math on what they needed to charge developers to line their own pockets plenty and they came up with 12% twelve percent steam charged 30 to every PC game for 20 years and see no issue here
making a cool loading screen is what video games are really about and dont you forget that
MISSION: INFILTRATE THE FACILITY. REMAIN UNDETECTED.

There are TWO Pokemon-like pixel-art RPGs on Kickstarter right now. One cleared it's goal in fifteen minutes and has now made 120k (as of this writing). The other is just barely about to hit its goal of 30k. Let's unpack that. www.kickstarter.com/projects/mon... www.kickstarter.com/projects/sea...

Hey folks! If you’re still on the *other* platform, I created a thread there on how to switch over to Bluesky, including how to request your archive and find people here that you were following there. Would appreciate boosts to your circles so we can stop supporting Elon 🤠 x.com/b4olivas/sta...

So because I'm using a code library and not a visual-scripting solution for my game's behavior tree, I decided I needed to plan out the behavior tree visually, first. However, I decided that it'd be best to use a solution for generating graphs in code. This makes perfect sense.
