Hot take: Republicans will say EXACTLY the same things about centrists that they will about DSA members (i.e. call them commies). The difference is that DSA candidates will actually fight for the things real people WANT and thus will be less vulnerable than do-nothing centrists to bullshit attacks.

If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.
There are two competing ideological poles on the Democratic Party right now. The establishment (e.g., Schumer, Jeffries) and the DSA-affiliated left (Sanders, AOC, Mamdani). It’s literally impossible to objectively come to the conclusion that it’s the DSA side that is a gift to MAGA.
While serving on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Jared Moskowitz bought Lockheed Martin stock FOUR separate times. Those holdings have soared as Trump started his illegal war with Iran, a war Moskowitz cheered on while mocking Ro Khanna's bill to stop it as the "Ayatollah Protection Act."
