If "dealing the Zionist a blow" is going to be AES's campaign message, then Democrats are better off writing that off as a loss and focusing on more winnable campaigns.

Nothing Moves the Needle
Not that long ago, the press could root out corruption, topple presidents, and end wars. Now, even the biggest scoops have little impact. Here's how and why the media lost its mojo.

everyday the news is like: "polls show voters want trump flayed alive 55-35." "new busload of elites pulls up to white house to drink trump's warmed over piss"
The cult of Mamdani is now giving him credit for Summer Streets? A program started under Mike Bloomberg that's been going on since 2008? 😂😂😂
Watergate was a harmless prank, in terms of the scale of illegality & constitutional violations, compared to this. Again, this is the most basic "do we live under a functioning constitutional order?" type of stuff. The answer, sadly, is no, because this hasn't immediately ended his presidency.
"The Trump administration admitted that it terminated nearly 300 federal research grants 'solely because' the projects were connected to states that voted against Donald Trump in 2024 and had two Democratic senators in office, according to court filings." www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
So under this Supreme Court's treatment of U.S. law and presidential power, Joe Biden couldn't forgove my student loans, but perhaps Donald Trump can forgive his own tax debt. Wild.
FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.
👆🎯 We don't do elite accountability in America & haven't since at least Iran-Contra, but really since Appomattox.
Once again, one of the primary reasons we have arrived at this point (completely out-of-control & unconstitutional abuse of executive power to conduct wildly illegal foreign policy) is that no one, including the most senior people involved, went to jail for the rest of their lives for Iran-Contra.
this is the kind of obstreperousness, don't tell me what to do-ness, i got rightsness that is the sheet anchor of American liberties.

Especially since all that Bush admin shit was the gateway drug to Trumpism. And MUCH more methodically done.
No. No you don’t have to look wistfully at the Bush Administration. Illegal war, torture, illegal surveillance, Katrina, Christian nationalism integration, etc. Don’t let Trump’s insanity give you amnesia over the Bush Administration’s actions.
Nationalization is the moderate position
NEW - EXCLUSIVE: Zelensky’s plan for Ukraine to survive winter involves Starlink access in Russia so drones can hit key targets there Elon Musk hasn’t agreed. This week, Zelensky asked Trump to intervene Trump was noncommittal. And the plan is in doubt www.theatlantic.com/national-sec...
This is the first passage of Maggie and Swan's book. Consider the agency it sets up. Democrats. Partisanship. Why not focus on the "irony" that Maggie had done propaganda for the man for years? Why make this about Democrats, rather than her complicity?
60 Democrats with whom I only agree like 75-80% of the time is worth way, way, way more to me than 49 Democrats I agree with 100% of the time. And I feel that way about basically every issue. And honestly, if you don’t agree, I really am not sure you understand how all of this actually works.
It's been over a year & a half, & Ezra Douthglesias & the Dem polling class are still pretending the story about 2024 wasn't primarily "Harris/The Dems outperformed every incumbent party in the world in a structurally terrible year given inflation & maps" & honestly, it's exhausting & unserious.
Haven’t read the leaked “autopsy” yet, but unless it starts & ends with “Democrats over-performed every other incumbent party in the democratic world, after having the best midterm performance in 2022 of any party since WWII, & they would have won the House absent late-inning gerrymandering,” then 🤷♂️
It’s completely nuts that Trump won by less than 2M votes with near universal media help and worldwide rage at incumbents and the media treated this like a permanent sea change towards MAGA and now less than 2 years later he’s the least popular President in history and there’s no media reckoning
I mean, there's all kinds of things Democrats Must Do if they win in 2026/28 👇, but they are all about <institutional reform> to make 🇺🇸 a real democracy & insulate ourselves against authoritarianism. I like Ben Wikler & sure to most of this, but it's like 4th-order compared to the real Must Do stuff

It's noteworthy that the sticking point in getting Todd Blanche confirmed as AG involves financial corruption rather than Blanche refusing to release files about the sex trafficking of children by Trump's former friend. To Republicans, money is always more important than the welfare of children.
at one point, Republican elites viewed Fox News as useful for riling up the masses, but now we have a generation of elected officials who have been raised on it and are incapable of viewing it as right wing entertainment and instead view it as factual.
👇🎯 Again, this is what both political parties & societal institutions like the media need to to do in a functioning democratic polity, & we’re not going to get anywhere by continuing to allow the far right authoritarian party to set new terms of what is acceptable behavior in politics & society.
this sounds elitist but our recovery from the present moment will depend in part on being able to once again effectively malign, ostracize, and refuse a platform to cranks
So very tired, we, the Jews of the world, are
"Debates over World War II became popular at Heritage, with a lot of “rehashing and going through who was the bad guy and who were the good guys,”" Also, sounds like a lot of anti-Semitism at the Heritage Foundation. Maybe Trump's task force on anti-Semitism could look into this!
