Digital Artisans; devs for the Codex and DMHub!

From the sneak peek I've had of the revamped Codex UI and journalling tools, they're so much nicer to use. Cleaner, easier on the eyes, and they make playing Draw Steel feel better. Still LOTS of work to do, but I'm quietly excited for ppl to see what's coming. If we can pull it off. #VTT

You got to see this!! When a creature moves and there's interesting verticality at play, a diagram shows you the movement. In screenshot 1, Moriel is climbing over a wall, and then atop a pillar. Screenshot 2: Sam flies over the swamp gas. Full Draw Steel Codex vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFfS...

Level 1 of the Beastheart and Summoner classes are *available NOW* in the Draw Steel Codex! They are zero cost because they are (or soon will be) in the open license. The in-game shop is coming soon™️ and will allow you to buy cosmetics, eg. animated tokens for the Beastheart. Stay tuned!

Tonight's Draw Steel game was a redo of last week's fight, but in Codex, so I'm in the unusual position to critique the difference between The Codex and the Foundry VTT implementations. The Codex is phenomenal. It's got the utility of Foundry, but it's easier and tooled especially for Draw Steel.

Played draw steel tonight on their proprietary vtt. First impressions were good. Combat felt punchy and pretty quick. our barbarian hit a goblin so hard two other nearby goblins died from the shrapnel. At least from a player side the vtt was really impressive. I’m sure we’ll play more of it.

I have to say I'm really enjoying The Draw Steel Codex. For $20 you get PDFs of the rules inside it, including monsters, and a full VTT with built in map building tools. I spent les than 20 minutes knocking together a dungeon floorplan tonight.

A dungeon built in Draw Steel's Codes, it's a lot of little boxy rooms with stone floors and walls, plus some GUI elements.
