Very much a small fish in a big pond, but hopefully a nice one. Paediatrician, dog owner, mum, crafter, owner of wonky ears. She/her

25 years ago my life changed. As a teenager I watched the aftermath of the attacks, the people helping in the streets, the healthcare professionals rushing to save who they could, and I thought “I want to be able to help people like that”. And so, medicine. Today we remember.

One of my colleagues is Argentinian. He asked me today if I was nervous for this match. “No” I said, “we’re very good at losing. We’re used to it” Come on boys, prove me wrong!

Coming from the States I've always struggled to understand UK politics. Apparently Farage has resigned from office in order to be elected to that office - but nobody will run against him except a talking trash can. And the BBC is actually interviewing the trash can.

Truly, we are blessed. 😊 "My job is to demonstrate that British democracy is wonderful and unique in the entire Cosmos" 'Count Binface told BBC Breakfast why he plans to stand against Nigel Farage in the Clacton by-election.' via x.com/i/status/207...

Nigel Farage has spent his whole life dodging responsibility for his actions. This new stunt is his latest attempt to escape consequences for his biggest grift. We won’t let him.

The statement on his future is going to simply be that he’s not going anywhere, but he’s attracted enough attention to throw out some other bilge hasn’t he?

This week I forgot I worked in the NHS. During an educational supervision meeting I was asked “Any complaints?” I replied “No, it’s been good. I’ve really enjoyed it” Silence Then “No, Emily, have there been any complaints about YOU?”

This is abhorrent and utterly unacceptable. @rcpch.bsky.social - do we have a response to this? I would absolutely expect my College to call this out for what it is: systematic discrimination of timetable children based on their ethnicity. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Black children eight times more likely to be strip searched by police - report

A new report says while the number of strip searches has decreased, ethnic disparities in their use persist.
