In January, I stopped using X as a communication channel because the platform facilitated the creation of illegal and deeply harmful images by its AI tool, Grok. I am renewing my call for all governmental and parliamentary communications to stop using X. The platform continues to facilitate

Just finished the Pitt season 1. Obviously totally mad and silly. But the scene where Dr. Robby looses his shit with grief is very very relatable. If you’ve felt this; you are not alone. 😢
Quick thinking having a tablecloth handy. I didn’t even notice the twitching from that dead robot.
PSA on the Victoria Line tube in London. Phillipson and every other GC weirdo needs to take note.
It's World Emoji Day, so here's a friendly reminder that we have 🚷 and 🚳 but not

Under a Binface government, anyone who doesn’t accept human-made climate change as fact will be sent back to school, from Year 1 right the way to A Levels, to see if anything goes in the second time round. #VoteBinface
Pedestrianization is often framed as transforming streets. In many cases, we're actually restoring them. We're reclaiming what's been lost: social connection, local commerce, civic life, and human-scale movement. Perhaps it's time to shift from street transformation to street restoration.
There’s an opportunity here to do the funniest thing in the history of British politics.
On my way, Clacton.
Data centres in space is some of the most intellectually lazy nonsense I have ever heard. It makes hyperloop look like the inerrant word of god.
Congrats to @thecollegeoficm.bsky.social I’m quite excited to see the future of my specialty take shape.

👥 There is no legal ‘next of kin’ in UK law and no hierarchy of opinion in best-interests decisions. Family views matter only to illuminate what the patient themselves would have wanted. Make sure you’re up to date with the legalities: www.bjaed.org/article/S2058-5349(26)00028-4/fulltext
Consent and assessing capacity in perioperative and intensive care

The AI slop I see in statistical consulting from my clients is really starting to get exhausting. It wastes my time, but it also wastes theirs.
The scariest thing about this, is that it’s taken the collective global economic effort of the modern era to bring this change over decades. The thought that we can somehow reverse this on a sensible timescale without a similar effort seems far fetched.
"When a child born today becomes a parent, the average temperatures of summer 1976 will be normal. When they become a grandparent, they will look back and think that the summer of 1976, or even the summer of 2025, were remarkably cold." - Professor Ed Hawkins 50th anniversary of the 1976 heatwave
Towards the end of training I loathed rotating. Constantly reforming social connections every few months. What I hadn’t expected was the same feelings as a consultant. Meeting so many wonderful people who en masse are pulled away every few months. We really need to fix this.

It’s been five years since Alex Jones lost InfoWars to the Sandy Hook families. As the verdict came down, he asked: “Do these people actually believe they’re getting any money?” He hasn't paid them a penny. Well, The Onion is going pay them anyway. The new InfoWars begins July 2nd at 8 p.m. ET.
The Onion says it won’t wait for the courts, will launch Infowars to pay Sandy Hook families
The Onion’s staff is tired of waiting for the courts to settle its pending takeover of Alex Jones’ brand, so the new Infowars will launch next month.

At the last moment, ahead of next week’s action, the Government has moved and made a new offer for resident doctors in England. Strikes for 15–19 June have been called off while members vote on a new offer covering jobs, pay and progression.
Once again, for those at the back, the effort to refute bulls*t is 10x that required to produce it. Can we please stop doing high dose Vit C trials in critical care now?

Finished a week on call. So time to properly catch up with #CCR26 today. Wow. Carbocisteine and Hypertonic saline are out! I’ve already had 2 requests to present this paper at our journal club. Could this be our shortest time to implement evidence so far?
Just catching up with #CCR26 some really interesting trials this year!
