The EU will require AI labels on any authentic-looking online content. Text, images, video and audio designed to look truthful must be visibly marked as AI-generated and contain a digital watermark to show the artificial origins of the content. Please can the UK have the same?

The question in my mind is how out of touch with reality does someone need to be to buy such things during a climate emergency? How many Telegraph editorials add up to a downpayment on one of these contraptions? Or is it a giant Up-Yours to other people and the rest of the living world?

The bizarre thing is that, other than Reform, none of the mainstream parties are running. The upcoming Clacton by-election is really just an ego trip for Farage. Of course, it would be spectacular if Farage lost to Count Binface (who, apparently, is the Establishment). #VoteBinface
