Semi-related: There’s a concept we talk about in health care - particularly disability, mental health and aged care - known as Dignity Of Risk. Simply put, it’s about allowing someone opportunities to do things that might carry some degree of risk, and not coddle them bc of their age/disability.

Ever notice how many men see a woman doing something they think is risky (like traveling alone) and immediately assume she’s naive and stupid - instead of assuming she’s intentionally taking a calculated risk? They can’t imagine a woman might do something even mildly dangerous on purpose.

inspired by CLAUDE.md, I’ve started putting markdown files named after coworkers into work code repos so I can remind them to stop doing shit to the codebase that annoys me for some reason they’re all mad at me now, which means ill be adding commands to JEREMY.md for an attitude adjustment

Seems unfair that you only get to use the bouncy slide to get off a plane when things have gone wrong. The bouncy slide should be a treat they give to the best passengers who did the flight correctly.

I left university in 2019 with £49,600 of debt. A few months later, I became an MP and have since received a salary that puts me in the top 5% in the country. 6 years on, the repayments from my salary have brought this total to down to £48,600 - just £1,000 less.

My copy of Felix Danczak’s “Market-led growth” arrived! I’d already got and started the Kindle version when it came out, but I much prefer a physical book for this sort of thing so I can easily refer to bits as needed!
