I would like one plank of the 2028 Democratic platform to read: WE ARE GOING TO SEND EVERY ONE OF YOU CORRUPT MOTHERFUCKERS TO PRISON.
ProPublica: Trump's FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and fellow Republican commissioner Olivia Trusty received pricey gifts valued at tens of thousands of dollars from Paramount while the company had deals pending before the commission.

5 authors who died while you were alive who you've read five books by each Kurt Vonnegut Charles Bukowski Tom Wolfe Philip K. Dick Harlan Ellison
5 authors who died while you were alive who you've read five books by each Elmore Leonard J.G. Ballard Charles Bukowski John LeCarré John Keegan (confined to my post-high school book buying era when I could have that feeling of wondering when the next one was coming, and what it would be like)
It took Curt McDowell a full eight years to raise the $10k he needed to finish editing SPARKLE’S TAVERN, only to get hospitalized for AIDS within a year-and-a-half of its premiere — these are the kinds of intensely personal and intensely queer projects that have always been neglected

Idk man, I think the journalists who have been traumatized the most were not sitting in that room tonight. The feds gassed the shit out of us, knocked us over, sent in the local PD to harass, detain, and hurt us, shot a teenaged photographer in the face and he lost an eye, and that's just in LA
People here are being really shitty, including at fellow journalists who've been traumatized, and you will regret those posts. Or should. Also this does not help your political cause, whatever that might be.
Kind of a perfect metaphor for the media and the role they've played over the last ten years

Meanwhile, the position of executive editor at the Lexington Herald-Leader was eliminated by McClatchy as a cost-cutting measure. This industry makes no sense.
That time my career was over and I had to disappear so I moved to one of richest neighborhoods in one of most media saturated cities in world to hobnob with media elites who offered me fabulous jobs without questions while I prepared for glam photo shots in major papers. We’ve all been there.
