oh shit, Sasha & Digweed's classic 1996 dance mix Northern Exposure is getting a fancy reissue, with a new remix of Underworld's "Dark and Long" (incredible tune) North (Disc 1) was so so influential on my music tastes. Worth it alone for FSOL's "Cascade". latenighttales.co.uk/products/nor...

This is a Minister who is purposeful delaying family reunion visas, denying refugees protection and scapegoating migrants for issues his Government created. It is not surprise Labor is in a race to the bottom on immigration, but it is toxic politics. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08...

Labor was poised to reveal massive migration cuts, then suddenly delayed

The ABC understands the cuts to migration numbers are contentious within Labor, but no reason for the delay is given.

In my game Rhythm Doggo, when a NPC dog should jump from a platform to another, it calculates exactly which jump strength it should have to land at the correct spot given the position, velocity and acceleration That code worked perfectly. Selecting which side of the platform to jump from did not

For any of you educators in games or software: Are any of you using or seeing Anytype in the classroom for team communication? (i.e. as a Notion-like alternative) I'm now using Anytype for my own personal stuff, wondering how well it works for student teams.

Any cool international devs (preferably with a game released in the last year or so) interested in visiting Melbourne this year (for the small price of doing a short talk??)

The practice of AI companies secretly buying millions of old books (some vanishingly rare), scanning them for AI training, then destroying them, epitomises everything that is wrong with today's exploitative AI industry. 🧵 1/2

#BREAKING 🚨 Labor in their draft 2026 platform have replaced their previous statement of belief 'that there should not be poverty in a country like Australia' with a 'recognition' the social security system should support 'better health and wellbeing'.

A fair social security system

91. Labor believes in a strong, adequate and fair social safety net and that there should not be poverty in a country like Australia. Labor is committed to a social security system that keeps people out of poverty, whether they are unemployed, working age, escaping family or domestic violence or in retirement.A fair social security system

90. Labor recognises that a strong social security system supports not only economic security but also better health and wellbeing, and that when people have the means to meet their basic needs and make choices about their lives they experience stronger social and health outcomes.

ALP conference somehow even more sauceless than everyone thought it would be this year. Not you, internet smart guy. You already knew it would be bad. I mean even among attendees who had properly calibrated their expectations to 'zero'.

Still probably the coldest summer of the rest of your life though. Who is organising the climate marches in Europe/US/Canada? The only way we push the politics back toward mitigation is with a broad public demand that something must be done. Otherwise we’ll keep going round and round.
