The most absolutely massive flex from the state fair exhibit. This quilt is made of 40 years of prize ribbons from various categories at the New Mexico State Fair won by Carol St. Clair Johnson. She also won a prize for this quilt.

Aww memories of the first day of my first faculty job in August 2020 prior to the release of the vaccine. Definitely necessary to prevent infection given how bad the spread was at WNE, but not a pleasant way to teach or interact with colleagues. 0/10, did not enjoy. #covid #vaccineswork
1/43 Ok folks, after much teasing and anticipation, I'm THRILLED to share our new paper in Annual Review of Clinical Psychology. Not gonna lie: I'm proud of this one, and I hope it makes an impact on the field (so please share!). A thread 🧵👇
Friends, we are still a few months out from this paper being public, but I am very excited to share some of my best diatribes with you all. Here is a preview
Truly a privilege to be the PI of this lab!
We had the best time celebrating the lab at our somewhat annual Welcome Back Party! Such an amazing group of RAs and PhD students are the heart beat of this lab, and we continue to grow with 5 new phenomenal lab members! Cheers to a great year at @unm.edu and @casaa.bsky.social!
The @istss-sud-sig.bsky.social is hosting a webinar on NIH grant funding for PTSD/SUD. They (being my mentor @drcolintmahoney.bsky.social) graciously invited me on, see flyer for details!! ☀️
A great #RSMj2026 was had with friends and colleagues! Huge thank you to my labs for their support and to my symposium panel, @kyrafarrelly.bsky.social, Stephanie Penta, Brenna Carter, and Adrian Bravo!
“Ducks love bread, but they don’t like salad! Right, Dad? Not like you, Dad, you LOVE salad. You love it.” -Finn Mahoney shaming his dad for liking salads apparently 🤷♂️
Learned something new today!
Did you know that UNM's campus is a nationally accredited arboretum? With thousands of trees from 235 different species, campus is always looking and staying cool 🌳 Craving a lovely shaded walk? Check out the curated tours of a few of our special trees: https://bit.ly/4vlmGfI
What an incredible World Cup by the DR Congo team, who overcame a devastating Ebola outbreak and war, and brought unity and hope to so many through dark times. Fimbu!
Olympics and World Cup. Only times I ever feel patriotic these days. Big win!
USA! USA! USA! 🇺🇸⚽️🔥 What a match!
Campus was visited by some particularly feather-y prospective students 🦆
We had such a wonderful time at the Draggies tonight celebrating the Drag and Queer community! More to come—but many thanks to all for an amazing night!
Submitted my first #R01 award application as a PI on Friday! Fingers crossed NIDA reviews it favorably. 🤞 Happy to see it finally under review with an incredible team of researchers! #ProjectTRACE
New MEG preprint out! Huge congrats to postdoc Rohit Yadav. We (among other things…) decoded explore-exploit decisions in the human brain, revealing the lateral frontopolar cortex kicks off the shift to exploration hundreds of milliseconds before the choice itself. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

UNM is proud to be a place where the LGBTQIA+ community is openly loved, accepted and embraced. This June, Arcoíris joins the celebration and will host and participate in a number of events in celebration of Pride Month. Read more about the events, history and more: https://bit.ly/4fRElHM
Hoping for a meaningful Memorial Day for all those mourning the losses of friends, family members, and fellow servicemembers. It’s often a somber day of remembrance for the brave individuals who lost their lives in service of their country. A big salute to all of you. #MemorialDay
Grades submitted and my first academic year at @unm.edu and @casaa.bsky.social is officially in the books! This was my 6th (and by far my favorite) year as an Asst Professor. Excited to submit my dossier for #tenure and promotion this fall and (hopefully) experience many more New Mexico #sunsets!
Also, while I couldn’t celebrate Ellie and Shantel in person, I’m so glad I got to celebrate one of our newest lab members, Izzy Gutierrez! She’s a volunteer RA in our lab. Congrats, Izzy!
Wish I could’ve been there in person, but so so proud of these two amazing UCCS Masters students! Ellie McLane and Shantel Horne have worked incredibly hard the last few years getting to today and I can’t wait to see what they do next! It’s been an honor and a privilege to be their mentor. 🥹
Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on access to mifepristone is a relief, but it should never have been necessary. Women in New Mexico and across the country deserve access to safe, effective reproductive health care. We are grateful that today, this freedom remains secure.
Had the best time (as always) at #CPA2026! @reaganfitzke.bsky.social crushed another talk (as did our other stellar PhD students and postdoc!), I had my 1st discussant role, I presented on our pilot on shame assessment, and we had a mini @mpwrlab.bsky.social reunion! @apadivision50.bsky.social
Come see us this afternoon at #CPA2026! @apadivision50.bsky.social @kristicarrasquillo.bsky.social @katiew.bsky.social
If you’re at #cpa2026 the work you do and your labor is integral to the health of our country and its’ people. At 5:30pm there is a rally honoring all of our collective labor for May Day. And all you have to do is step outside the hotel and walk across the street. How convenient!
Come see my poster on stigma in SGM adults who use opioids at #CPA2026 later today! @apadivision50.bsky.social
