Key context: the Amazon stores roughly 100 billion tonnes of carbon. Cool Earth backs Indigenous firefighters in Peru keeping that carbon in the trees. Avoiding those emissions beats capturing them later. Protect first, CDR for residuals only.

And for what it's worth, all the EGLL (Heathrow) data I could find: June 2026's dewpoints at high temperature a real jump up on history. We see a lot of concentration of future / present "T" potential in the face of climate change, but very little "Td" and their compounding impacts (if at all).

Hating this sticky uk heat? Same. To avoid more of it we need to reduce the planet's thermostat by cutting our emissions. AND we need to plan for these conditions - adapting our homes, worklives and behaviour to cope.

1976 was long, hot and dry. But our climate has changed and this week's heatwave is now hotter and stickier as a result. We're likely to break 1976's température record today. And more concerningly, humidity is hovering at potentially dangerous levels. Take care out there.

Animated forecast from @ecmwf.int showing 500 hPa geopotential anomalies for the next 15 days. Very stable Ω blocking over central Europe with "cold feet" west and east of it. For large parts of Europe this means a strong heat wave over the next two weeks.
