I want to say thank you, and farewell, to Stephen Colbert before his final show this evening. But I also want to remind folks of the corruption behind his cancellation. Watch.
More of this, less of bombing other countries (From @acyn.bsky.social )
For those keeping track at home. The Iranians have now blockaded the Strait of Hormuz in response to the US blockading it because the Iranians had blockaded it, in response to the US attacking Iran to ensure that the Strait which was fully open at the time wasn't blockaded.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” IT SAVES PUBLIC MONEY to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me

Trump is being schooled on the limits of US power – but he is a slow learner | Rafael Behr

Your regular reminder than a large majority of voters - and overwhelming majority of Labour voters - favour giving settled migrants access to the welfare state after five years or less. The Home Secretary is not reforming rules in line with public opinion. She is doing the opposite.
"would otherwise receive immediate access to welfare and social housing" is BS. Correct: "after 5 years working in a care home, would be eligible to apply for welfare and social housing on the same basis as the rest of us." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... Deliberately misleading/disingenous.

Also deserving of some praise: tactical voting websites. #gortondenton
G&D and Caerphilly painting quite the picture about how the public really feel about Reform - despite much of the media’s desperate attempts to persuade us that a Farage premiership is inevitable come the next GE.
Expect weeks of "family voting" rhetoric from Reform. They're out of the gates on it already. It mustn't be allowed to wash because look at the scale of that win. Tactical voting has obviously played a massive part. Gorton and Denton rejected Reform and its hateful agenda.
Apologies for my woeful Japanese pronunciation and for the baseball cap. I'd love to hear Kazumi Hashimoto's version of Careless Whisper if anyone has it! Tonight The Music Seems So Loud: The Meaning of George Michael, is published around the world this summer. More details: sathnam.com
How much has it snowed in Boston, you ask? Well, enough that our neighbors made a whale out of snow.
Voters in Gorton and Denton can take a FREE personality test today. Simply go into a polling booth and if you find yourself voting for Matt Goodwin, you'll know you're a twat.
I speak as someone regularly ripped off to ensure that Yorkshire Water's complex network of owners all make plenty of undeserved profits and bonuses. Water is a basic necessity of life. And we pay them to chuck shit in it. What a marvellous idea privatisation was... 🤮 share.google/B5nG5aCg5vjC...

A vote for Matt Goodwin/Reform in #GortonAndDenton is a vote for racism and misogyny. A vote to shame the constituency, to divide and fail it. It’s a vote that takes no responsibility for its consequences because it hasn’t thought about them and doesn’t care enough to do that. Don’t be that voter.
