I'd love to show them one of the theatrical versions with only one ending, then offer to show it to them again to see if they pick up on the clues, but it's one of the other ones.

Marx and Smith were largely in agreement. Mostly about the failure modes, but Marx actually had prescriptive solutions instead of just warnings about where it goes wrong. This is the pull quote for me. The C-Suite needs to cut, but those cuts make it even less possible to meet their performance demands. I think we've artificially hit that point that has been prophesied for decades: games are finally too expensive to make. At least in the AAA corporate-led space.

Writing "wisdom" I hate: WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW. This is the worst advice ever. It would be better if it was KNOW MORE SO YOU CAN WRITE ABOUT IT. Every good writer I know is constantly researching and getting new information and asking experts. It's a terrible bit of advice!

I would play the crap out of a Green Arrow game, especially if it had the Arrow family and Black Canary, etc.

According to my smart watch and attending app, I'm at best a B sleeper, and usually a C+ or B- sleeper. Despite practicing all my life, I can't crack an A in the activity. I was never good at PE either.

We're being told that if we sacrifice the rights of some people, then the rest of us get to keep our rights. We all know that's some BS.

Decades of using Photoshop professionally and I will never get over "Save a Copy" just to get something other than a PSD. And I will NEVER get over how they insist on adding " copy" to the file name, especially once I change file formats.

It's this in combination with the notion that executives are attempting to maximize ROI with big swings and big bets. Because otherwise, the solution would be medium-sized bets in smaller, neglected genres (see: Star Wars Zero Company).

The video game industry has always been volatile (I published Press Reset in 2021!) but the skeleton key to understanding the current state of things is this: Big games now cost 10x to make what they did 15 years ago but most do not generate even close to 10x the revenue. Simple as that
