Anti-Fascist family guy skeeting into the void.

Those of us who negotiated and supported the Iran nuclear deal of 2015 were vilified and accused of naiveté and much much worse by Israel, GOP, AIPAC, MAGA, NGOs. Turns out we negotiated a great effective deal far better than anything this administration can even dream of let alone bring home.

I don't think it's hyperbolic to say that if a Democratic President pardoned a guy his family did business with and that guy was then accused of facilitating payments to Hamas, there would be Congressional investigations and editorial demands for impeachment proceedings

You have to read between the lines here to imagine what President Trump is proposing. But, it sounds like it may be a plan for health accounts that could be used for insurance that doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions, which could create a death spiral in ACA plans that do.

A coalition that ranges from democratic socialists to neoconservatives, including a lot of energized liberals in between, is large and formidable. A big pro-democracy tent. A united front. Any internal disagreements can be hashed out once the authoritarian emergency is over. This really can work.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I don’t think it’s good for a US president to pardon a convicted money launderer who is enriching the president personally via cryptocurrency. That seems pretty corrupt to me, and I think corruption is bad. Sorry to get so partisan, but that’s how I feel.

When the Supreme Court struck down Biden's policies, it was tempting to think: "At least these limits on executive authority will bind Trump if he comes back into office." But no—the court's skepticism of executive power vanished on Jan. 20, 2025. This dynamic is obvious to anyone paying attention!

Since 2015, huge swathes of the media platforms people use as their windows into "reality" have been bought up by MAGA-aligned billionaires. Is it any wonder that the Trump admin has been fairly successful in getting millions of Americans to buy into his framing of "reality" while the Dems struggle?

One path to a successful career as a columnist is to be repeatedly wrong. Not to have unique takes on matters of opinion, but confident declarations proven wrong by events. If you can condescend to people proven right no matter how often you are wrong, the most prominent media would like to pay you.

The UAE obtained access to advanced AI chips after it purchased $2 billion of Trump's cryptocurrency—alarming security experts. When I tried to explain this to a Missouri focus group, I was greeted with blank stares. Finally, after a long silence, one member asked if anyone involved was trans.

Trump's Shell Game Threatens American Security

We're pushing to make anti-corruption a top priority on the political agenda to fight authoritarianism, strengthen the rule of law and protect democracy.

In an ideal world, all the people writing, "Prosecutors are under pressure to charge Trump's enemies" would mention John Durham and Hunter Biden. Treating those as normal prosecutions was part of what got us here.
