Jimmy Cricket : truly one of the nicest men in this business. Daft as a brush on stage (and able to be cross generational in his appeal) but so warm and kind and generous and supportive off it. He also has a lovely family of good people. Ah this is so sad. RIP Jimmy.

What a sad day. Raising a glass to that very fine actor Tom Chadbon, who graced every franchise from James Bond to Blake’s 7 to Game of Thrones, and whose brilliant comic turn as Duggan, the out-of-his-depth private detective in the 1979 Doctor Who classic City of Death, is the stuff of TV legend.

Bill Oddie, what a lovely bloke. He wrote us a letter when we started making The Young Ones, wishing us the very best, and warning us against interference from higher up. He didn’t know anyone in the cast personally. It just came out of the blue. Lovely thing to do.

RIP Ronnie Le Drew I met Ronnie last year, he was such a fabulous chap to talk with. We all know Ronnie with Zippy but Ronnie's puppetry skills went further including working on Labyrinth, the Little Shop Of Horrors and the Muppet Christmas Carol.
