The EU exports 1.4 million tonnes of used #textiles per year to Africa and Asia. Despite the professional and skilled #secondhand operators in importing countries, when what arrives is too low quality to resell, it becomes #waste, polluting the environment and pushing retailers into debt.

💸 Policymakers must hold polluting producers accountable. We need #ExtendedProducerResponsibility that is inclusive and ambitious, and that follows the products wherever they end up - also beyond EU borders.
