The other thing that concerns me is that this only came to light as a result of a self-referral following a forced sale of a Club, and a hack. It was so fucking obvious it was happening in both cases at the time. Yet the governing bodies were powerless to stop it. That needs fixing urgently.

It’s worse. Since Arsenal won the league in ‘04 more than half of the leagues have been won by a team that cheated. We all had a feeling that both City and Chelsea were cheating, alongside the brazen things they did to put their thumb on the scales. Chelsea should be gone, City should be too.

Case in point: Haaland’s 2022 signing. After the charges, strangely low transfer fee & incredibly opaque arrangements on wages and agents fees etc. Norway has a lot of transparency re: income, but Haaland’s reps (including Dad Alfie) ‘coincidentally’ moved to Switzerland when the deal was happening.

If I were PL regulator, given they’ve strenuously denied wrongdoing throughout, & it was only really the leaks that led to the investigation, I’d be wanting to see all City’s emails & financial records from the end date of the investigation until now. What price on the cheating continuing since?
