This whole Liddle thing got me thinking that we should regularly declare how we feel about people *before* they die, so they know. Maybe on their birthdays we could post what we would if they had died. It also solves the issue of people ‘speaking ill of the dead’.

Good morning Bluesky ☀️ My grandad told me he saw the Titanic - from the outset he warned all the people that the ship would sink, but nobody listened to him. He knew he was right and didn't give up. He warned them again & again, until eventually they kicked him out of the cinema.

The Titanic sinking under a moonlit sky.

Can't be the first to say this, but (and yay UEFA - brilliant) this works equally well if you swap out "football" for maybe "water" or "a stable climate". Look at me being the revolutionary socialist. "No one has the moral authority to sell what they merely hold in trust for the next generation."

The moment external investors acquire ownership interests in
FIFA competitions, football changes forever. Commercial return becomes a permanent obligation. Investor expectations become a daily pressure. From that moment onwards, every decision on the international calendar, every decision on competition formats and every decision shaping the future of football is no longer driven by what best serves the game, but by what best serves shareholders.
This model has no place in world football. Football's future cannot be dictated by the expectations of those whose first duty is to maximise financial return. Nor can the interests of national associations, leagues, clubs, players and supporters become subordinate to investor returns. Football cannot mortgage its future for financial gain.
Europe's position is clear. We will never lend this model our legitimacy. No one has the moral authority to sell what they merely hold in trust for the next generation.

Most of my shorts are button fly, however, the past couple of days I wore some with a zip fly but I always went to unbutton them. Today, I'm back in button fly but my zip fly muscle memory finally kicked in, albeit too late. These struggles are never covered in the mainstream media.

Watching Daredevil with the sprog, a bunch of ninjas silently ran across screen. “I can do that” I said. “Fine,” said the sprog, lifting up her phone to record. “Do it.” I stood up, cleared obstacles, and walked to the corner. “I can run across this room, and you won’t hear my footsteps.” “DO IT!” …
