I didn't know Sam Neill closely, but we were 'pub and shopping neighbours' for over a decade. Not a bad word to say, never crossed paths without thinking "what a lovely, funny man." Would often see him at wine tastings, pouring glasses and tidying up alongside the bar staff. Normal as bloke.

i was going through some files on one of my drives (i'm old and enough of a digital hoarder that some of these files are on their fourth or fifth hard drive; as technologies change and old formats become obsolete i move them and refile them) and found this, my favorite photograph from law school.
