Shouldn't that be "right-wing" Free Speech Union? Same writer, same paper, but only the tax group gets called out as "left-wing" huh? (And if your response is everyone knows the FSU is right-wing: a) they do not, and b) some people think the Nazis were socialist because of their name.)

Oh are we identifying the ideology of lobby groups now? That's great! I look forward to the NZ Initiative, Free Speech Union, Taxpayers' Union, and every bank economist being called right-wing in the headlines of their numerous self-generated stories from now on.

Schools in Auckland and Christchurch are trialling street closures on the streets outside the schools during pick-up and drop-off times. The closures were put in place to deal with poor behaviour from drivers that put children in danger.

I know DCM are about to launch an appeal to help fund crisis accommodation for rough sleeping whānau so please follow them and give where you can. The number of people in our communities sleeping out in the open in sub zero conditions through freezing southerlies, hail, rain and flooding is increasing. A reminder that this government has made it harder for people to access emergency accommodation and have left these same people to freeze to death on the streets because apparently it is "their own fault that they are homeless". We can fix this when we boot them out in less than 100 days but for now, let's get in behind our local organisations on the frontline who can act now with our support. A

It really doesn't need saying at this point, but fuck the Labour Party. If it's bad law (and it is) you shouldn't support it. End of. Frankly, if this is their attitude towards lawmaking they deserve to lose the election.

My sister has moved house so I told her she needs to update her details on the electoral roll because same day registration is no longer possible. She had no idea about the changes. Will there be an advertising campaign? Otherwise people won't know and will be turned away on election day. #nzpol
