The number of people who are trying to weasel their way out of dealing with the fact they sold their souls for stock options is crawling my skin. You knew you moved foil . Please enjoy your life .. Don’t expect us to rescue you from it
People like Confas/ Gates/ / Darius Cooks / Musk/ Gamergate/ abusive exes/ Nuzzi/ Rowling Know you want change things . Know you will always focus on them being bad/ them being redeemed over actual systemic change that stops people needing you too
I regret to inform you that once again my child grew multiple shoe sizes over the summer. He can no longer wear children’s sizes. He is nine.
This behavior is also seen with the Brown Anole lizard, which is also found in Miami and southern Florida
🇺🇸 Supporters of Tate brothers rally in Miami ahead of bail hearing Supporters of Andrew and Tristan Tate gathered outside a Federal Detention Centre in Miami ahead of the brothers' bail hearing, doing push-ups, chanting and holding banners calling for their release.
Trump just shrunk Bears Ears by 91% and Grand Staircase-Escalante by 90%. Bears Ears was the first national monument co-managed by tribes. Five tribes spent years building that partnership. It's been walked back. 100,000+ archeological sites now exposed to mining and drilling.
“the dark secret of the ones long married, A pleasure never mentioned to the young, Is the sweet heat made from two bodies in a bed Curled together on a winter night, The smell of the other always in the quilt, The hand set quietly on the other’s flank—“
I love it in cdramas where the cheating ex is like “I just made the mistake all men make!” and it turns out the mistake included like, burning her dead mother’s belongings to make the mistress happy. SIR
EVERY STORY ABOUT BEAVERS FOR THE LAST DECADE READS LIKE: WE RELEASED A DOZEN PADDLE TAILED LITTLE FREAKS AND THEY IMMEDIATELY BEGAN A TERRAFORMING PROJECT THAT REVERSED A CENTURY OF ECOLOGICAL DAMAGE IN THREE WEEKS.
Might post some good environment news every so often to showcase that it's not over yet and there are good things happening, we just have to fight for it First: beavers are basically magical creatures that help with drought and flooding, and we're reintroducing them more and more
PSA for parents: If you connect with parents who fight or hate or want to cure autism, please know they tend to be some of the unhappiest & most dissatisfied people you will ever encounter. No joke. Is that really the community you want for yourself & your family? #autism #parenting #neurodiversity
I'm going to keep saying this until it's rote practice: If you are in official connection with let alone in charge of an archive of data, if is your professional & moral responsibility to secure that archive, as a backup or otherwise, against just such an emergency, so we're not Hoping some kid did.
Incredible. When E—n M—k & his crew obliterated USAID in a weekend, they deleted a vast trove of publicly-funded knowledge: the Development Experience Clearinghouse. A Canadian high school student (!) happened to have downloaded the entire thing for a project. AidData has now posted it for all.
yall remember when you used to laugh about why so much ancient military instruction boiled down to “no, SERIOUSLY, you HAVE to feed your soldiers!” it’s because militaries used to be commanded by failsons like the ones who run ours now, and the idea that their soldiers were people didn’t connect
The cruelty is the point: "moldy showers, broken toilets, laundry down for weeks, long stretches with no hot water, a meal that came down to half a cup of rice and two tortillas. No soap, deodorant, or toothpaste"
Just finished An Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage, and I am now even more comfortable with my basic economic philosophy of “everybody should get access to food.”
powerlifting really helped me work this denial muscle. I won’t debate you but I will fight you, bro. Still interested??
One thing I like here is not having guys like this screaming DEBATE ME all over the place. Nobody owes them a debate, and the fact that they can't behave decently when someone declines shows they don't deserve one.
Most of my videos are too long for Bluesky but I thought y’all might enjoy this one. 😋
Everyone is Having A Time, but/and-so is not capable of holding space for the Time everyone else around them is Having, with hilarious (by which i mean brain grindingly infuriatingly tragic) results.
Another day, another mental spiral about how badly I’m failing my child. Does this part ever get better or….?
We should throw more lettuce at bad people. Not like we can eat it right now anyway
The background crowds in Cdramas crack me up because they perform the same function as a Greek chorus. So as the story unveils, they’ll change sides back and forth, and when the villian’s mask finally drops, they’ll point fingers and shame them. Sometimes they throw food, that’s my favorite part.
Correct. (Word counts etc.) It is also hard to overstate how much the establishment democrats and leadership were and are aligned with technology. The SV culture, the money, and the theory of mind — they are enamored with it.
The only thing I'd add to @tressiemcphd.bsky.social's fine work this morning is that the establishment Dems have an ideological blind spot around organizing. They overindex on capital-intensive forms of mobilization and are completely lost when it comes to labor-intensive forms of mobilization.
My colleague Daniel Baron has been felting this cute Saw-whet Owl throughout #AOS26 it's getting close enough to complete now (and I'm tired enough at the end of this conference) that I keep jumping when I see it out of the corner of my eye

There’s an interesting thing happening on social media right now where people are insisting that to combat eating disorders we need to post and obsess over images showing how thin celebrity women are. That’s not helpful, it’s actually harmful, and I wrote about it. www.wired.com/story/theres...
It's only been since 2023 that we realized the 9 banded armadillo common to the US is actually 4 species! One thing that sets them apart & my favorite fact about them: every 9 banded armadillo is an identical quadruplet through a mechanism called 'polyembryony'.
A new armadillo species was hiding in plain sight
Roadkill and genetic analysis reveal that the mysterious creatures are more diverse than we thought.

This is Dozer, the adorable six-banded armadillo (Euphractus sexcinctus) at the Akron Zoo, enjoying bed & breakfast. SIX-banded 'dillos are native to South America while Texas 'dillos are NINE banded. Although they look *similar*, they're as far apart evolutionarily as housecats & hyenas.
