It's amazing how, usually, these men are the dumbest, weakest, most pathetic human beings. They can't do *anything*, no courage, no nothing. It's amazing
Chuck Schumer's starting position should be as maximalist as possible -- complete abolition of ICE, resignations of Bovino, Homan, Noem and Miller, unmasking of all agents, and prosecution by state authorities of the murderers. Don't start with what looks like a compromise half-measure.

Majority of the country now wants to abolish and/or dismantle ICE and yet Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. told the caucus the message had to be to “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.” Once again it looks like Schumer is about to choke after getting a massive opportunity. So pathetic and weak.

You know, if NATO wanted to get serious about defending Greenland, there's nothing really stopping France from stationing missiles on Saint Pierre and Miquelon and doing Cuban Missile Crisis 2
Also, Yonder is a great book. Halfway through, and it's an amazing read, well written, and painful.
i think it's fine to be both critical *and* respectful you can criticize stuff, actions, persons, and still respect their mental struggle or whatever i think people have been lost in a sort of "everything is their opinions so we can't say anything" or "yes, but they have <mental issue here>"
Gotta rework my monograph from Google Docs to a LaTeX document in a repository. But then I wonder if it is worth all the hassle

Reading the "bun will join Anthropic" post, and the thing that annoys me about these things is that even the post feels like it was barely written by the author itself. Even if it wasn't, using AI feels like we're not even talking to actual people anymore. I feel constantly suspicious about

Google won’t be forced to sell its Chrome browser and can keep paying companies to keep its search engine as the default on smartphones, thanks to a federal ruling. In other words? Google gets to remain a monopoly and keep its harmful, anti-competitive practices. Shameful.

The only difference between our reality and a Philip K Dick novel is the characters in a Philip K Dick novel don't choose to live like this
He's right, and it's not just Brazil. Around the world, at least 31 democratic leaders who committed similar crimes have been jailed or banned from office since 2010. The failure to hold Trump accountable in the US was a unique and systemic failure of our institutions and political culture.

I have *never* read something so fucking good, well-written, and referenced like this. It is a tad long, but worth it. There are parts that I wish I could fucking tattoo on my brain so I can repeat every time I have to deal with this bullshit www.wheresyoured.at/the-haters-g...

I just saw someone saying that when they had to sell their Kindle device, they spent a lot of time without reading... Don't they know that public libraries exist? Hell, even regular books at an old book shop?
