This is not financial advice, but I recommend you wait to cash out your retirement accounts until {after} the tech utopia arrives.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent just endorsed Elon Musk's advice not to save for retirement — weeks after a report projected Social Security will cut benefits by 22% in 2032. Who exactly is this advice for? bit.ly/3RBVeN6 #ScottBessent #ElonMusk #AI

Our exit strategy is to keep going like we are, brilliant, sir!
DOOCY: What is the exit strategy in Iran? TRUMP: Well, I think there's a lot of them. There's a military exit where we just keep going just the way we are, and we can even make it a heavier dose and it's knocking out everything they have. They want to make a deal.
All of this. (Gift article from the author.)
The racist backlash to Chris Nolan’s Odyssey is a kind of stolen valor, an attempt by the right to claim credit for achievements they had nothing to do with in order to justify racial hierarchy in the present. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
This thread says it better than I would: Nolan’s Odyssey is a small-c conservative takedown of the violent, greedy, dishonorable inhospitality of the New Right. Gonna inspire a lot of “you have violated the Law of Zeus” drinking games.
Got out to see Christopher Nolan's take on the Odyssey. Fascinating movie, but to use a metaphor - it is a remix, not a cover; it has its own themes and ideas. Which is fine - folks have been remixing Homer for basically the whole of the western literary tradition.
Some people saying they were disturbed by the trailer for “Other Mommy” that plays before “The Odyssey.” Count me among them. Legit the first time I’ve ever turned away from the screen.
The events of the Odyssey would have been set 500 years previously at the time that Homer composed them, equivalent to writing about the voyages of Columbus today. For example Homer probably imagined Iron Age hoplite armor, while actual Bronze Age Mycenean armor looked like this:
Nolan’s Odyssey is good. There are nits I could pick, but the cast is stellar (mostly), and I don’t give even half a rip about “historical accuracy” in what amounts to a tall tale. Come for the Matt Damon, stay for the Anne Hathaway. 4 stars.
“These are the days of lasers in the jungle” Runner up: “I am the hawk, and there’s blood on my feathers.”

Hey Petros. Remember that guy in the region of the Gerasenes? who had like 3,000 demons? I think he murdered Thaddeus with a chain? And then J sent the demons into a herd of pigs? That was sick. But Squarespace never makes things that complicated. With easy drag-and-drop tools,

One reason I balk at calling myself an independent artist is that I don't like endless self-promotion and networking, which is a legit part of it. I know there's an audience out there for all my wonky stuff, but ... Narrator: "Link in bio", dude, you gotta say "link in bio."

Strange Device
An ecclectic mix of experimental pop, audio collage, synthpop, and electronica. Odd textures, catchy hooks, one part satire, two parts fun. Absurd, thoughtful, silly, anxious. Overall jaunty, if a bit

Fellow dudes, if you feel compelled to present a nuanced dissection of any given story about a man sexually assaulting a woman, you're letting every woman in your life know that you're not safe to be around, or at the very least, she can't depend on you to have her back if it ever happens to her.
I lost all my poetry in a mistaken shuffle between a backup I thought had happened that didn’t and a cloud drive sync service that emptied a folder when I didn’t expect it. Nothing of value was lost. But still.
In my quest to make one of everything, I have released an album of electronic-ish music. A mix of genres, as is my proclivity. Jammy. Ironic. Beaty. Tense. Tongue in cheek or pretentious or both. 13 songs. Spotify, Apple, YouTube Music, etc. #newmusic music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
