I have so much good condition, child-based *stuff* my kids have outgrown (clothes, toys, entire bedrom set) and this fucking society makes it SO FUCKING HARD for me to give these items away and basically encourages me to place it in a landfill and I fucking hate everything.

I have a fool-proof way to get on the news: 1) live in a beloved neighborhood, 2) have a very cute baby, 3) have a very silly bike. You don't always need all three, but if you do it is basically a guarantee.

I read a post a couple of years ago that really stuck with me. The cooling centers are for anyone that needs them. As a person with a lot of privileges it is my default mode to say "oh that's not for me." If that's you too but you don't have ac and you are struggling in this heat, it is for you!

We have a nanny this summer and it's making me weirdly conservative? Like it feels crazy that it costs me so much more to employ her than she gets to put in her pocket every pay period! Abolish taxes just for my nanny.

My four year old was asking me today about what I did with Grandma on days when it was too hot or too smoky to play outside, and. Oof

Seeing again and again in punditry the danger of having strong political opinions that are not grounded in fundamental moral values.

Very funny to watch people realize in real time that the switch from ST to DST has a purpose. The way people have talked about it for years treated it as though there was an option where we actually get more hours of daylight.

A lot of people are using their dislike of AI to cover for their extremely snobbish literacy privilege and I find it annoying.

I know we're not supposed to feel sympathy for people, but dying hours after saying "I can't die now" is exactly the kind of shit that would happen to me.

i was able to use our greenway network for this whole 26+ mile ride except for when I drifted off and had to find it again. my fave part was riding down Klickitat which I hadn’t done before, the storm water planter school street block is what we want at James John elementary on Charleston!

Had to apologize to my kids for yelling "F**k you!" to a man driving unsafely behind us. We took the lane for about 4 blocks on a street with a 20 MPH limit. This asshole revved his engine behind us the entire time and then screamed "you're a bad example" after we pulled into our destination.

Asking how people can partake in joyful acts during a period of immense suffering leads me to believe this is your first time at the suffering rodeo.

No one comes to my house and asks what I think. Even when I email them an incredible idea!

Honestly if councilors wanted to hear from Tom Dundon then he can go to public session and address council like everyone else.

I remember watching a show (literally have no idea which one) and an immigrant was trying to introduce herself to her new neighbors and had a lot of trepidation over which ones would be friendly. I bought one of those "No Matter Where You Are From We're Glad You're Our Neighbor" signs the next day.
