Pedal assist e-bikes. It’s real hot in Oklahoma and I ride with 1-3 kids. Riding a pedal-only bike for my daily trips is pleasant for 2 months out of the year, ebike extends that to essentially 12. It replaces a minimum of 6 trips per day.

e-scooters are often the fastest, lowest barrier, cheapest form of commuting available to people, and that's why their use has skyrocketed. we should be prioritizing and accelerating infrastructure interventions to make them safe for the young and/or disadvantaged people who need to use them

Dr. Abdul El Sayed, Melat Kiros and Darializa Avila Chevalier (the latter two are PhD candidates) examples of academics who successfully went out of the ivory tower and talked to regular people and resonated with them. but you'll never hear of this as an example of higher ed being engaged.
