2025 ended with this paper being accepted by Analytical Chemistry! 😁 Please check out our article in its new home and learn how these multinanoparticle protein coronas grant us a deeper insight into the glycoproteome of different biofluids: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

Can nanoparticles help us probe the glycoproteome? The new pre-print from @riley-research.bsky.social seeks to answer this question using the Proteograph technology from Seer Inc. Check out this lovely study on glycoproteins NP-enriched from biofluids here: chemrxiv.org/engage/chemr...

GlyCounter (and pre-print) from the @riley-research.bsky.social is now out to help inspect raw MS data for glycan-specific ions. Congrats to first author Katie Kothlow for leading this and to all RRG members who helped test GlyCounter's utility for numerous datasets! This was a great team effort.

The erosion of trust in science & scientists — sometimes due to complex social/historical factors but often deliberately perpetrated by charlatans — has tragic, deadly consequences, and, if unchecked, is an existential threat to society.

"The vaccination has stuff we don't trust," said the father of the 6-year-old girl who died from measles at the end of last month. Tom Bartlett visited with a family confronting an unthinkable tragedy:

I am excited to discuss our efforts in @riley-research.bsky.social to help streamline glycoproteomics methods at the @glygen.bsky.social webinar next week!

The final chapter of my PhD thesis is officially published!😄 It's a true reflection of collaborative research and I can't thank my PhD supervisor, Clarissa Melo Czekster, enough. Of course, the figures feature the most amount of pink probably seen in a research journal so please enjoy! rdcu.be/d7owS

The heterogeneity of HeLa cell-lines undermines reproducibility. HeLa cells were obtained without informed consent. ==> Researchers should avoid using HeLa cells unless required by a special justification.

Question for my proteomics skywalkers: today I was chatting about enzymes that aren’t trypsin, and I know there’s plenty out there (including this fun paper, h/t @pastelbio.bsky.social), but any great ones that should be on my radar for bottom-up proteomics? pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

Postproline Cleaving Enzymes also Show Specificity to Reduced Cysteine

In proteomics, postproline cleaving enzymes (PPCEs), such as Aspergillus niger prolyl endopeptidase (AnPEP) and neprosin, complement proteolytic tools because proline is a stop site for many proteases...
