Interestingly Calgary in Canada is named after Calgary Bay on the Scottish island of Mull. Beautiful even in the rain.

Sure someone on here recommended the film, I know where I'm going. Turns out many locations were on the Isle of Mull including Duart castle.
Isabella Bird. Intrepid Explorer. One of first women elected as fellow and admitted to the British Geographical Society. Amaaazing woman. Her life included what reads like an epic love story. Fascinating.
Looking forward to reading more about Isabella Bird. Intrepid Explorer with a deep connection to the Isle of Mull.

Reading this book about Skye on Skye was just perfect. Written some years ago this book describing the geography and stories of Skye is apparently something of a classic.

Today did a bit of wildlife spotting at lunch time. Courtesy of the RHS who have just started work on a hospital garden project at the Royal Oldham. Did you know there's an excellent app called inaturalist for identifying wildlife and logging pictures of finds in different areas?
To every woman has had success passed off as someone else's. I like the example of Bonnie Garmus who watched a colleague present her ideas as their own. She then wrote best selling book Lessons in Chemistry which became a TV series. That is she ctd to have more bright ideas and had more success.
