Darzi-Ekh is the supreme deity. Whenever a character says "the Goddess" they nearly always mean her. Nidzi -- Mother Earth -- is second in rank, but her feast days are the most significant, since she nurtures all life. The lesser goddesses are invoked and revered to a lesser extent. #MythAugust

#MythAugust 5 Today is about hierarchy! Who ranks highest or lowest among your gods/spirits/whatever? Is there a consensus about this ranking? As usual, interpret the question as loosely as you need to to fit your specific worldbuilding, and feel free to skip if it's not relevant to you! 😊❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 5:
Let's talk hierarchy! Which of your deities are more powerful/respected? Are there minor deities who serve the big ones?

This has to be the thing on BlueSky I find both puzzling and amusing. No explanation as to why you were blocked, and honestly I don’t care. They never let me sit at the “cool kids” table in high school and I didn’t give a crap, either. I’m autistic people have cutting me out for 60+ years

There are no factions in my fantasy religion. At least not yet? Still in the process of designing it! So it's possible that there will be at some point. #MythAugust

#MythAugust 4 Today, tell me about the different factions among your gods/spirits. Think like the Æsir & Vanir in Norse mythology, or angels & demons in Christianity. What's their relationship? Are they sworn enemies? Sometimes allies? Interpret the question however makes sense for your story!

Look, it's the driving force of my series after about 1/3 of the way through book 1! Since the dawn of humanity, gods have struggled for power. In the Archnean empire, the sun god, Sol, and his allies (who is an ally has shifted and continies to shift) have enough of a hold on the population to...

#MythAugust 4 #TimeTravelingGhost is dualist, so good is opposed to evil. We haven't seen any organized forces of good, but on the other side we have: The Lapin Cabal, Illuminati, Templars, and Illuminated Ones. All the rest of my works are polytheistic and animistic, so things are chaotic.

There aren't main factions, but Khaluun did cut himself off from the rest of the gods (and also mortals) years ago. He cast most of the gods out of his court to wander the world. #mythaugust #writesky

The Goddess is opposed by the Dark One, but the average believer knows nothing about them. The Dark One is used as an imprecation, but no one precisely knows why, though there are hints Darkness was written out of the scriptures at some point. #MythAugust

Kyoka: It's insanely convoluted and detailed. Every spell is broken down into minutiae that human scholars realize revolutionize the study of magic. The emotional moments completely neck-snap the tone into frantic, teenage live journaling/diary writing. "OMG HIMARI SO CUTE" etc.🧵 #AwesomeCharacters

#MythAugust 3. Åskirā are described as “benevolent,” but it's more complex than that when you have, among others, a protector goddess whose rage can cause reckless destruction, a battle goddess whose grudges can lead to wars, and a god responsible for creating the kulakan—the demons. #ValkīforSaga

#MythAugust 3 What kind of moral code do your fantasy gods or spirits follow, if any? Do they share similar moral values to the people, or is their sense of morality completely alien? Do they even do "morality" at all? As usual, interpret as you wish and don't forget to interact with others! ☺️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 3:
How does your deities' sense of morality align with that of people? I.e. are they moral, immoral, amoral, a mix...?

In the Cruel Gods series, each god has their own sense of morality that they expect their mortals to follow. Failure to do so can result in punishment. But there is also a covenant between gods and mortals, alongside shared universal sins, that all must obey. #MythAugust

In my Loki books, Loki is on a mission to "become good" and is allocated "virtue points" by a simulation of Odin that's trapped in his diary. But Odin's own behaviour is often self serving and honestly he shouldn't be the arbiter of what's good in any way. #Mythaugust

#MythAugust 3 One thing I'm trying to approach is how the gods' morality reflects their people's (my fundie upbringing gets in the way here tbh). Exception being nature spirits, who are just kinda there and do their own thing. They do not need to be worshipped like a god, just respected.

#MythAugust Alright this ones gonna be slightly weird since the morality of gods who are completely immortal, separate from reality (the major ones anyway) and separate from time who make the very concept of the thing they are the god of is weird.

#MythAugust 2 In Na'aqal mythology, there are around 100 known gods & countless minor spirits/demons. Ba'oaxa the Thunder God was the first, & from him came 11 Elemental Gods (the Ba'oaxanaan). They then gave birth to 50 more gods, the Aldenaan (dream-born), who make up the main pantheon... 🧵1/3

Moral and ethical, though the Temple -- intertwined with the government -- twists that into the sort of righteousness that has allowed them to do what they want and claim it is the Goddess' will. This leads some to reject the Goddess entirely. #MythAugust

The religion is state-sanctioned and features a paramount Goddess and subordinate goddesses under her. There is no male deity — the entire idea would strike the characters in my story as ludicrous. #MythAugust

Hello #writingcommunity, welcome to Day 1 of #MythAugust! This is a worldbuilding game about ✨fantasy✨ gods, myths & religions! You can use the prompts to build up your gods, or yap about some you've already made! Today, give us a BRIEF intro (not too detailed!), & please interact with others ☺️❤️

Just the word count, for the most part, especially when doing the first draft. Later on other things become important, like trying to determine if the plot points fall in the “right” spot. #PretendPanel

I think sprayed edges are neat! But tbh selling special editions with alt covers and limited releases just feels like a cash grab most of the time.

Edge painting/drawing always struck me as rather neat, as did gilding, back in the day. But its not much of a factor in whether I buy a book or not...buying two, less expensive titles has always appealed to me more than buying a single title with bells and whistles. #PretendPanel
