Accessibility statements should help people get unstuck when they hit barriers, not just claim that accessibility matters. You don't need a perfect policy to start. Write what's true, name gaps, and keep it updated. Users who hit dead ends can then find a way forward. github.blog/open-source/...

For races that are too close to call-- if you can help with ballot curing, it might help. Take all that poasting energy and do a good thing! I did it in 2024, and even if you're new to it, the instructions are very straightforward.

There is a thought that everyone that gets involved in digital accessibility is eventually forced to grapple with, consciously or unconsciously. That thought is holding the contradictory truths that the web is working not as intended, but as designed.

Isn't it weird how metaphors don't work the same anymore because so many people don't actually interact with or pay attention to physical things in the same way.

I regret I have but one heart to give this take 💜 My thing with LLMs is: all of their environmental, legal, and epistemological issues could disappear overnight, and the tech is still going to be used as a cudgel to smash worker power, and to disenfranchise folks already struggling to get ahead.

My hottest AI take is that the executive class is petrified of labor and saw that whatever else LLMs are/aren't, they're fine labor-smashers + that a ton of ordinary people find the artificial hyper-complexity and scamminess of modern life and work so unbearable that they'll throw a god-box at it.
