Never seen a show play so many theatres at once. Come From Away is just about all the theatre that’s currently available.

I’ve done 125+ professional union plays. Worked at major shops like Goodspeed, MUNY, Madison Square Garden, Pasadena Playhouse, Chicago Shakes, played Hamlet and Rosalind etc. But I think I’m close to finished.
It’s still so amazing to me that the horrible JK just stole the name and basic plot from Troll (1986). Little kid named Harry Potter meets witches and wizards, discovers the magic inside himself, defeats the evil wizard etc.

🚨 Kansas voters once again reject GOP efforts to trick them into losing abortion rights. The no vote prevails on an amendment that wouldve replaced the indy commission with direct (partisan) elections for Supreme Court justices — which the AG promised would "slowly & quietly" let GOP stock the court
MATEWAN is film that all of you should watch. It's a masterpiece that's more relevant now than it was in 1987.

there is a strain of lefty discourse where you can’t come to any unflattering conclusions about the populace—those must be explained away by how they are being acted upon by capital—but I think you’ll understand things better if you understand capital can also exploit weaknesses it didn’t create
Every once in a while you get to do a musical with an MD that uses a guitar instead of a piano and that’s always a *great* time.
This is a prize one. 1983’s British release. I got to do a few workshops of Gordon Gano’s original musical about Bambi Bembenek “Run, Bambi, Run” back just before COVID. One morning “Hey Erik I wrote you a few verses last night.” Readers, that was the finest moment of my career.

Those who believe things like this are working hard at not understanding the finite options available to someone whose abuser has not been prosecuted, found guilty, etc. by the law. And how rarely those things happen to abusers, esp. high-status white male abusers.
Rep. Max Miller: "These are incredibly serious criminal accusations. If these accusations were true, I would be in jail — I would be. My former wife would not have been offering to cook me dinner and inviting me to playgrounds. Think about that."

Picked this one up in Lyon, my favorite vinyl record city on the planet. Love every track.
I was a 15yo local backstage cook for talent in Kansas City for the first couple Lollapaloozas as they came through. Life-changing.
Nominated for Achievement by a Leading Actor in a Play for her brilliant and terrifying turn as Annie Wilkes in MISERY at Key City Public Theatre last year!! Krista is a goddess!

An officer reported other cops for using racist, sexist and homophobic slurs at work, filed an Internal Affairs complaint & submitted recordings of the other cops being bigoted as evidence b/c otherwise nothing would be done about it. He’s now charged with 16 felonies & could get 13 years in prison.

Stage acting is total awareness of your mind & body. You know what to do with your hands & feet, your posture. It looks natural in a theatre but it’s totally unnatural. On film your whole body usually isn’t in the frame, but these things still matter, they affect everything else.
@wychstreet.bsky.social Heard an interview with Patrick Ball who is an Emmy nominated actor on The Pitt. He is a Yale school of drama guy. While shooting the show's second season he also appeared on stage in a production of Hamlet. Said the experience made it screen acting exponentially better.

Great play too. Dream role but nobody ever does it.

The Invisible Man (1933) is an unhinged masterpiece. “Ahead of its time” is a crazy cliche for sci-fi but come on.
I remember this insane story from a few years ago. Ebay employees trying to shut down this couple's little newsletter that was criticizing the company went completely batshit: sending them live spiders, posting ads for sex parties at their address, tailing their car, sending them death threats.

The reason Zohran scares the shit out of them so much is that they think this sort of technocrat FDR liberalism/market socialism will *work* and be popular, not that it will fail and be unpopular. They're afraid that he will be a good mayor not a bad mayor.
zohran is a completely normal (mixed-market socialist/new-deal liberal/whatever) and it’s completely frying the brains of people with too much money or whose livelihoods are built on catering to the opinions of people with too much money

I refilled a chafing dish in the lunchroom on the Lilith Fair tour, cutting between Sinead O’Connor and Meshell Ndegeocello and both of those faces were, like, spot-lit from above the clouds. Indoors.
Random question: what celebrity have you met in real life who was dramatically better looking than ypu thought they were based on on screen appearance?
Watching Alien Nation (1988) because I smash play on that one anytime it shows up, which is rarely.
