I have long wanted to curate a set of Clemens/Twain sources for use in US I and II classes but I am not sure if there's interest.
Erin Grievances@erinbartram.bsky.social · 3d agoStill being exceptionally weird about how much I want historians--pure historians who went through history PhD programs--to treat him as a source. I will get there some day and maybe this digital project will be the way.
Back from six days in Elmira for the Twain quadrennial plus a little extra time to work on an amazing Twain digital project that I am honored to play a little part in. Seven years in and I’ve barely scratched the surface of this wild field. 
the whole “institutions won’t love you back” thing remains true, but there have to be people in the institution fighting for their right to be there or there aren’t going to be humanities and social science programs at all.
Also, you can help the project by offering feedback and/or contributing material.

Up in Elmira for the Twain Quadrennial and what a treat to get to hear grad colleague and @contingent-mag.bsky.social star @eguimont.bsky.social talk about Twain and astronomy and weird 19th century cranks.
The sabotaging of our knowledge-making infrastructure continues apace, but today a dozen Twain scholars & digital humanists (including @erinbartram.bsky.social) spent eight hours discussing the esoteric intricacies of turning a 4-volume 2.8 million word reference work into a multimodal web resource.
You couldn't write Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow today. They'd make you call it Mama-Oom-Mow-Mow.
