It’s official. My university who told me for all of the years I have been a faculty person they it valued diversity all of a sudden decided it no longer does without even attempting to resist a legally questionable executive order. www.thedp.com/article/2025...
Penn to introduce changes to University discrimination policies, remove term ‘diversity’
The changes include the renaming of several statements, offices, and policies, and the elimination of terms including “diversity.”

Migration is a widely observed phenomenon supported by morphological, physiological and behavioural traits that vary with season and sex in many species. Recently, the genetic components underpinning migration in the marmalade hoverfly (Diptera: Syrphidae)...

Is low fecundity of old males a consequence of seminal fluid or sperm declines, or female post-mating responses? Our new paper in evolution letters finds some surprising answers! academic.oup.com/evlett/advan...
Reproductive output of old males is limited by seminal fluid, not sperm number
What causes an old male to reproductively fail? Is it his sperm or seminal fluid? In fruit flies, old males produce fewer offspring than young males. But s

Marine heatwaves are getting hotter and more frequent. This incredible underwater time-series from Seychelles has taught us how coral reefs can respond to bleaching - including regime shifts, boom-bust cycles, and now, a regime reversal from algae -> coral. Out now in Ecology Letters! 🦑 🧪 🌊 🌍
Still hope for coral reefs. Using 28-years of data in Seychelles, we find reefs recovering 4-5 years faster from the 2016 bleaching event, than they did after 1998. Also, a reef that had regime-shifted to macroalgae for over 15 years, is recovering to coral. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
