I am so fucking tired of "seeking justice" being framed as "getting even." Arresting and/or impeaching people who are legitimately guilty of actual crimes is not revenge. It is justice. Innocent people should be released from detention and guilty people should be in prison. Again, that is JUSTICE.

I wrote this script to email my reps but I also called them with a truncated version of this (they can hear from me twice, as a treat). Feel free to use/modify when talking to your reps about the work they must do. We won big last night, but we can't waste this moment with feckless leadership.

I want to congratulate democrats across the country for their wins last night but I want to express to ((my representatives)) that I am beyond furious by the reaction of leaders Schumer and Jeffries and I want to receive some assurance from ((the senator)) that this moment won’t be wasted. Schumer said we won “against all odds”. That is utterly false. We won because of our hard work and the polling has been in our favor for months. The fact that he seems surprised by this no thanks to propping up trojan horse candidates such as Haley Stevens says to me that he is completely out of touch with the significance of this moment as well as the will of the American people and needs to go immediately. He cannot be trusted. Jeffries, who also did his best to squash progressive candidates at every turn, is saying that the American people don’t want to get even we want them to get things done. Both can be done, this isn't an either/or situation and to pretend otherwise is to promise powerlessness and mediocrity that the voters have spoken out against definitively. This was a massive rebuke of Donald Trump and we want justice for the damage he's done to our country, full stop. If I as a citizen did even 1/64th of what he’s done they’d bury me UNDER the jail. I want accountability for the crimes and destruction that has been done to our country and our people, but I also want things to be better and more affordable. Both are possible. It’s a deep insult to our efforts and our win to go on air and speak for the American people that we don’t want to punish Donald Trump and his allies when the votes have proven that that is a complete and utter lie. Since Jeffries clearly doesn't want to meet the moment and fight for what the voters are asking for, he must be removed immediately. The Democrats need new leadership or we will waste this moment. Can I count on ((the Senator)) to commit to getting rid of Schumer and Jeffries as we go into this new congress?

one thing about this vote shift is that it's utterly crucial that there's serious work now for protecting and expanding voting rights instead of either the usual "welp! they overcame suppression now, they'll do that for us forever" or "give up and don't even talk about it anymore after failing once"

Kind of sick of seeing how artists have to justify their prices all the time, yet nobody bats an eye when they have to pay any other specialised labourer 80-150€/h. Most of us are freelancers and have to pay for everything ourselves. Please have some respect even if you can't afford it.
