Since I unexpectedly rescued a street puppy two months ago and had to put down my 14 year old elderly dog 3 weeks ago, I got to see acquaintances asking about Boris while I was taking Nami on walkies post-factum. The amount of times I've heard "at least she's replacing him now" is really upsetting.
Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.
