I agree, which is why I look forward to the EU coming together to spend the ~€300bn annually it takes to build a navy with independent, global power projection capabilities. :taps ear: oh, I am being told they only have two fleet carriers, neither above 45,000 tons displacement. Oh well. Alas.

a perennial obsession of anti-semites is the attempt to find 'real Jews' who can be used to attack other Jews. It's the role that Neturei Karta plays for a chunk of the British left too. But picking Mizrahim given actually existing Israeli politics is a real know-nothing sign.

This is always a pretty easy tell for "does not actually understand Israel/Palestine outside of memes." I don't think anyone could look at the political currents of Israel and argue that the Mizrahi are somehow the people who will find common cause with the Arabs...

Like a decade ago, I thought that, despite being a liberal, I would be uniquely situated to interact with marxists, because I have read quite a lot of Marx and I'm quite sympathetic to much of it. Sadly, I didn't account for the complication that marxists don't actually read Marx
