KARL: Rs are gonna make you the poster child for the D Party MAMDANI: Let them. We don't have to ask ourselves what life looks like if a socialist wins. I won last year & over the course of the last 6 months what we've delivered for working people are the very things we were told were impossible.

Remembering my friend Om, as he’s gone. There are many things to say, and so much good work to observe. But the first thing I thought of, on hearing that he’d passed, was that he had chosen to speak up, more than once, to protect the most vulnerable in our communities. … om.co/2026/06/24/1...

Heartbreaking to hear that Om Malik has passed away. I can hardly believe it. Even just this year, it felt like he was doing some of his best writing. Very thankful for the time he gave us at Micro Camp 2023… I was so excited to talk to him. Rest in peace.

We get the arena feed, not the broadcast, so you can really feel the vibes in the Garden, and hoo boy they booed louder for Trump than for the Spurs

Ted Turner used to go off his Lithium and go on benders and then call my dad at 2:00 in the morning to rant about various things. (My grandfather was friendly with Ted’s dad before he killed himself) and that remains one of my favorite pieces of dad lore.

I worked on the Captain Planet cartoon early in my career and I remember it stemmed from Turner wanting to do something environmentally conscious for kids. I also remember him visiting the studio and hitting on the receptionist. He contained multitudes.

Trump, in his post about Ted Turner's death, claims that "woke" was "everything that he is not all about." Yes, the same Ted Turner who was married to Jane Fonda, wanted universal healthcare, was a staunch environmentalist, called pro-lifers "bozos," and accused Israel of terror against Palestine.

Ted Turner, one of the Greats of All Time, just died. He founded CNN, sold it, and was personally devastated by the Deal because the new ownership took CNN, his “baby,” and destroyed it. It became woke, and everything that he is not all about. Maybe the new buyers, wonderful people, will be able to bring it back to its former credibility and glory. Regardless, however, one of the Greats of Broadcast History, and a friend of mine. Whenever I needed him, he was there, always willing to fight for a good cause! President DONALD J. TRUMP

I re-made Glider some years back for MacOS/iOS. It broke at some point (perhaps an Apple change for Retina displays?) so I pulled it from the App Store. (Claude looked at the code—found some minor coordinate issues. Thanks!) Glider Classic for MacOS is back on. apps.apple.com/us/app/glide...

“The Pitt” is a good show. I watch. I enjoy. Then I move on. So it’s been fascinating to see that a certain segment of viewers have a very different relationship with the show. This would be the “fandom,” who have, ummm, strong opinions ... but also a difficulty in following basic tropes!

A comment about the show: "By far, the weakest aspect of the writing in 'The Pitt' Season 2 is that we only have 2 episodes left and we STILL don't know the PittFest shooter's name and motive."

My response: Right … because this information isn’t relevant to the stories “The Pitt” is interested in telling. The show is focused on the experiences of patients and staff in the hospital on one specific day. That’s what we get. We’re left to infer the rest. That’s OK!Comment: "'The Pitt' really mangled the Dr. Langdon 'addiction' arc. He isn’t even a drug addict. He injured his back and took legal and medically necessary pain meds. He developed a tolerance and became physically dependent on them."

My response: Wut??
