Half an hour of tonight’s sunset over the Downs. (As seen by precariously balanced phone on the attic windowsill!)

Pair of fighter jets just whizzed along Brighton beach. Slightly unsettling.
Waving 🌊👋. A new addition to the gallery this weekend. From a choppy swim out beyond the end of everything.
Out there somewhere Elon has a team of engineers working on a tiny, useless submarine to carry oil round the Straits of Hormuz.
It's an MTV simulator with almost 30,000 videos, organized by decade, with special sections for Headbanger's Ball and Yo! MTV Raps. This is so good.
This is really, really great. wantmymtv.vercel.app
Now for my last, soothing, bedtime check on The War so I can really lie awake and think about it
Some new things for spring. The latest gallery newsletter from a very sunny #Brighton beach. eepurl.com/jAGDFI
Brighton would be much improved if we had the courage to do this.
In Utrecht, the city centre isn’t dominated by motor traffic - it’s shaped around people. You see families riding side-by-side, conversations happening in the street, cafés spilling outdoors. When cars are restricted, streets come alive: quieter, safer, more welcoming, and better for everyone.
Two pictures from the sea in #Brighton on Wednesday. The beach was packed, and everyone was smiling for the first time in about three months. Went for a swim after work, watched the birds, saw a few friendly faces up there on the pier and cycled home without getting rained on. More of this please.
High point of the book tour so far: suggesting on Radio 4 that billionaires be hunted for sport and not having one person disagree.
Riding a cargo bike down Brighton's hills in torrential rain. Weaving round floating wheelie bins and hidden potholes like a budget bobsled run.
The pause after you've clicked on on that 'Verifying you are human' thing where there's a flicker of self-doubt but you also can't help thinking about some incredible possibilities.
We're having a little sale at the gallery this month. Last chance to buy lots of my pictures of #Brighton and the #SouthDowns before they're archived. Ends on Monday. Only one of each available. 35% off. www.brightonphotography.com/archive-sale
End of Terra… A favourite picture of Birling Gap as seen from the ever encroaching sea.
“Climate change will manifest as a series of disasters viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer to where you live until you're the one filming it.” www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I know the city needs the visitors and cash but this privatisation of public green space for long periods does feel like it should be questioned more - it happens in parks all over the city.
Just one person opposed #Brighton and #Hove City Council's application for a six-week alcohol and late-night refreshment licence for Victoria Gardens South. A panel hearing due to take place next week was cancelled after it was withdrawn #LDreporter www.brightonandhovenews.org/2026/01/26/c...
Wednesday, a day of the week, derives from Old English 'Wōdnesdæg' & literally means 'Look after yourself, the news is optional'.
