Why does Microsoft think I want people messing with the files on my computer every time I try to send one to someone?
AI thinks more words = better and AI enthusiasts use it to generate in a few seconds things that other people will have to read with zero consideration for our time. I am so sick of the wordiness and reading stuff written in what I can only describe as AI accent.
It is really cool that she did this! Olivia Rodrigo really seems to use her talent and her platform on such excellent artistic and philanthropic projects!

Bronze muscadines, also known as scuppernongs, are my favorite fruit in the world. They're only available for a short part of the year and it just makes them more of a treat. If I really miss them off season, I get some muscadine wine. We don't need every crop available fresh all year round.

I once worked at a university that gutted an entire (very popular and useful) learning center and replaced it with two guys who would teach you how to host blogs. every student had to have a blog. Every single one. Our syllabus had to mention blogs. We had to teach WITH blogs.

when I was a teen, my politics were incoherent but closest to what I would now call "reactionary centrism". even then, though, I thought for-profit prisons were insane and dystopian and perversely incentivized all the worst possible things. that's one opinion I've never wavered on.
This is the nut graf here to me. The MLB needs to be fierce and put on a full-court press here, and they almost certainly won't, which means it will be open season on a sports league which relies on Latin American players to make billions.

The problem is, they *used* to pretend to care and now they're like "let's rip up anti-discrimination law, repeal the 19th and force most women to be homemakers" bsky.app/profile/matt...
The thing about Ossoff that gives me hope is that he's shown consistently that he sees attention on himself as a tool to advance a message rather than an end in itself. Someone like Newsom would just be basking in the attention right now, but my senator is locked in.

hot take but i think a lot of people actually want there to be some kind of horrible health hazard associated with GLP-1 meds because their existence challenges their protestant ethic-esque philosophy of bodies
there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.
