“I told you once that I was searching for the nature of evil. I think I’ve come close to defining it: a lack of empathy.... Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy.” — Dr. Gustave Gilbert, U.S. Military Chief Psychologist in the Nuremberg Trials, Nuremberg Diary

Two weeks from right now, we will all be watching the election results come in. But our goal isn’t just to win the midterms in 14 days — we’re also preparing for months of organizing to protect the results, stop Trump’s election sabotage, and ensure the winners are sworn in next year.

For more than 40 years, the U.S. Arctic Research Commission has advised Congress and the president on what to study in the far north. Trump appointed a venture capitalist and MAGA influencer with no formal science background — and ties to Russia — as its chair.

How a MAGA Influencer With Ties to Russia Became Trump’s Arctic Adviser

As head of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission, Thomas Dans has backed a takeover of Greenland and other items on President Donald Trump’s list. But it’s not always clear where the administration’s ag...

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)

Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

I never would've expected Americans to get so accustomed to fascist madness. Every day there are 5 new outrages that make me think I must be having a nightmare. Yet some people around me act as if it's just normal life. Frankly, a little more healthy panic would reassure me.

If you think a test for dementia is an IQ test, you have dementia. If you don't realize you have been given a test for dementia because your physician suspects you have dementia, you have dementia. If you think being able to tell a giraffe from a whale makes you a genius . . . you have dementia.

😳 Trump loses it and SNAPS at a string of reporters, says Ilhan Omar might "go to jail," calls Somalia "a shit house," and boasts that thanks to a new program he announced today Americans "will make millions of dollars by turning others in" during absolutely deranged Oval Office event Supercut:

If this is accurate, Elon lied about not having control over Starshield, and he lied about the administration making the decision. More importantly, why is a private citizen even *able* to make decisions that could hinder US military operations?

Two weeks from today we have the opportunity to begin the righting of the ship. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: there’s no other time period I’d rather be living in. We are present, for the most consequential election in history, and with that, comes the ability to make history.

Similarly, crooked Donald Trump redirected $20 million in taxpayer funds from the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to pay for campaign-style television and streaming advertisements promoting him ahead of the midterm elections.

Ron and Cassie DeSantis: These two crooks stole $10 million from a settlement with a charity, wired it to Cassie’s fake “charity,” laundered it through two puppet organizations, and then used it for political ads in an election year. They should be in jail.

I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on, nobody should support this kind of deception. They created a fake pamphlet to spark trans outrage and sent it to every home in Texas. Then their paid shills continued the outrage on social media. Politics is broken.

Team Paxton appears to have sent out fake mailers to Texas voters impersonating a trans student group and claiming to want to help kids secretly transition. The actual group said they had nothing to do with it, despite the mailers copying their aesthetic, and the address traces to a random UPS box.

I'm not a Christian, but one of the things I've always admired about Christian theology is the radical empathy of God incarnating Godself to literally feel the suffering of the human body. Apparently I admire this part of Christianity more than many American Christians do.

It‘s kind of incredible that there’s vast amounts of replicable quantitative data that says being Evangelical makes you evil and despite its massive impact on politics we just… don’t talk about it all that much.
