“it is not my fault that my parents hurt me” and “nobody can clean up the mess they made but me” are two statements that can coexist. to live better, we have to live in a way that acknowledges the material truth of how things Are Right Now, not how we want them to be or how they should be

2026, the year in which AI cannot distinguish between: • real FAKE news • fake REAL news • real REAL news and • REAL news written to satisfy the largest donors during pledge drives Humans can’t distinguish them either, so it’s unlikely AI will ever be able to at a statistically significant level.

real talk this is why i try to approach everything as a study i’ve been trying to get back to cooking for myself for health and budget reasons, and i started with “a study in crispy chicken skin” ive always had more success focusing on the skill and less on creation, but it’s HARD and UNNATURAL

One thing this points out is that if your mind has certain tendencies, it'll use true information in untrue or incomplete ways, to hurt you. Reading this illuminates a lot of what I've seen/heard from people whose genuine care for the living world has been weaponized against us by our own minds

K so Come home after a long day out, and all my smart devices are borked. Like, *all* of em. None can be controlled locally with Home Assistant or Google Home, none seem to be able to access the internet, only a couple are controllable via the vendor's app directly.
